Privacy Policy &
Booking Terms
This page explains what information Mustard Construction collects through this website, how we use it, the terms that apply when you book a Wildfire Compliance Consultation, and the terms for using this website and its free tools.
Effective October 26, 2026
Privacy Policy
- What we collect
Information you give us when you use a form or tool (like the Defensible Space Snapshot or AB 38 Compliance Overview), request a guide or book a consultation. That can include your name, email address, phone number, property address, deadlines and details about your property or project.
Information collected automatically when you use the website, such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referring pages and advertising or analytics identifiers.
If you pay online, your payment details are handled by our payment provider under its own privacy policy.
- How we use it
To respond to you, schedule and provide services, keep business records, run and improve the website, advertise and measure our advertising, and tell you about our services by email or phone.
Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to stop marketing calls at any time.
- Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information to other companies for their own marketing.
We share it with service providers that help us run the business, such as scheduling, payment, email, analytics and advertising providers. That includes Meta and Google, which may use your contact information to match and measure our ads (for example, Meta Custom Audiences and Google Customer Match). These providers follow their own terms and privacy policies.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
- Cookies and tracking
The website uses cookies, pixels and similar tools, from us and from partners such as Meta and Google, for analytics, advertising and remarketing. These partners may collect information about your activity across different websites over time.
We don’t respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals, except where the law requires it.
- Children
This website is for adults 18 and older: property owners, businesses and professionals. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
- Keeping and disposing of information
We keep information for as long as it’s useful for the purposes above or required by law. When we dispose of records containing personal information, we take reasonable steps to make it unreadable.
- Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we’ll post the new version here and update the effective date.
- Questions
Questions about your information: done@mustardconstruction.com or 805-818-8218.
Consultation Booking Terms
- What you’re booking
A Wildfire Compliance Consultation is an on-site assessment of your property. We review it against the standards that apply to your compliance need and prepare a Wildfire Compliance Scope: the observed conditions, the applicable requirements and a recommended scope of work. The Scope is yours to keep, and we don’t share it without your permission. Booking doesn’t obligate you to hire us for any work.
- Consultation fee
The consultation fee is $500. Fees may change; the price shown when you book applies. The fee isn’t credited toward later project work.
- Booking confirmation
Choosing a time doesn’t confirm your booking; payment does. Our scheduling and payment providers have their own terms and privacy policies.
- Access
You must be the property owner or authorized by the owner. Please arrange access, let residents know about the visit and keep pets secured. You don’t need to be home. If you book for an owner, you confirm you have their authority, and we may share the Scope with you and the owner.
- Rescheduling and cancellation
Reschedule or cancel at no charge, at least 24 hours before your appointment, using the link in your confirmation email. Cancellations within 24 hours are nonrefundable, and no Wildfire Compliance Scope is issued.
- Insufficient access
If we can’t get the access we need to complete the consultation, the fee is nonrefundable and no Wildfire Compliance Scope is issued.
- The visit
The consultation is not a home inspection. We comment only on wildfire-standard items; anything else we notice is outside the consultation’s scope. The visit is a visual, non-destructive review of safely accessible areas. We don’t move heavy belongings, dismantle components or force access, and we may decline access where there’s a risk of injury or damage. Please tell us about fragile surfaces or hazards beforehand. Findings reflect conditions on the day of the visit; concealed conditions or later changes may need further review. We aren’t responsible for pre-existing damage or for damage caused solely by concealed defects during reasonable, non-destructive access. Nothing here limits liability that can’t lawfully be limited.
- What’s not included
The consultation doesn’t include construction, vegetation work, corrections, permit fees, agency fees or third-party inspection fees. Any project work is done only under a separate signed contract, and any project guarantee is set out in that contract.
- No guaranteed outcome
Insurers, fire authorities, inspectors and other agencies make their own decisions. We don’t guarantee an inspection result, insurance decision, regulatory determination or future project price. The Scope doesn’t replace any official inspection, permit or documentation an authority or insurer requires.
- Limit on liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a consultation is limited to the consultation fee you paid, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. Nothing here limits liability that can’t lawfully be limited, including for fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct.
- Questions before booking
If your property, deadline, portfolio or project doesn’t fit the standard booking, call us at 805-818-8218 before booking.
Website & Tool Terms of Use
- Agreeing to these terms
By using this website or its free tools, including the Defensible Space Snapshot and AB 38 Compliance Overview, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the website or tools. Booking a consultation is also covered by the Consultation Booking Terms above. The website and tools are for adults 18 and older.
- Free tools are informational
The free tools summarize publicly available information, such as CAL FIRE’s Fire Hazard Severity Zone maps, county address and parcel records, and fire authority records and guidance, as of the date shown on each result. That information can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and agencies may interpret or enforce requirements differently. A result is not an inspection, legal advice, a compliance determination, a certification or proof of compliance. Confirm requirements, deadlines and accepted documentation directly with the responsible fire authority and your transaction professionals before relying on any result.
- No client relationship
Using the website or a free tool, or receiving an emailed report, doesn’t make you our client or create any professional, advisory or contractor relationship. That relationship begins only with a paid consultation or a signed contract, under its own terms.
- Third-party information and links
The website links to and relies on information from government agencies and other third parties. We don’t control and aren’t responsible for their websites, records or decisions.
- Acceptable use
Use the website and tools for your own lawful, personal or business purposes. Don’t scrape them, run automated or bulk queries, interfere with their operation, or misrepresent results as an official determination. We may limit, suspend or block access to protect the service.
- Our content
The website’s text, design, logos and tools belong to Mustard Construction or its licensors. You may view, print and share results for your own property or transaction; please don’t copy or republish the website or tools otherwise.
- No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and free tools are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, availability and fitness for a particular purpose.
- Limit on liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mustard Construction is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, delays or missed deadlines, arising from your use of the website or free tools. Our total liability for any claim arising from the website or free tools is limited to $100. For a paid consultation, our total liability is limited to the consultation fee you paid. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t lawfully be limited, including for fraud or willful misconduct.
- Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute that isn’t resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Ventura County, California, and you and Mustard Construction consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead.
- Resolving disputes
If you have a concern, please contact us first at done@mustardconstruction.com or 805-818-8218 with your name, the property address and a description of the issue. We’ll work with you in good faith to resolve it. Neither of us will start a court proceeding (other than small claims) until 30 days after that written notice.
- Changes and general terms
We may update these terms; the effective date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and changes apply from then on. Changes don’t apply to a consultation already booked. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
